AMF Cleveland Showcase will take place April 12, 2007. The top seven bands that are able to sell the most passes automatically qualify to perform in the special showcase.
Any band that is able sell a minimum of fifty passes will be entered into a lottery drawing to determine 2 more showcasing bands. Bands that qualify are required to perform twice. They will perform at the showcase in addition to their regularly scheduled concert. Seven other bands will also showcase on Thursday (a total of 16). These bands will be determined by the sponsors and venues.
The 16 bands selected for the Thursday showcase will be judged by a local and national music industry panel to determine which six bands will move on to a Saturday showcase on October 14th for the panel of A&R’s, agents, managers, publicists, etc. The bands will be judged on stage presence, quality of music, crowd response, and professionalism.
At our past Dallas Music Festival, Losa was signed to Metal Blade, Dryline was signed to 226 Records. In Cleveland, the Sign Offs we’re signed by Matt Pinfield of Columbia Records, but they broke up shortly after. At this year’s Cleveland Music Festival, due to the showcasing format, Suburban Noise offered a development deal to hip hop artists R.I.A. and a record deal to Marz, formerly of Ministry. They are also interested in Ventana, members of Mushroomhead.
Please contact Michelle or Natalie with questions regarding the showcases.
